Hessian Hex part 6

February 16, 2013

Now that I had been transformed into the famous Hessian himself, I had been taken over by these more vicious instincts and urges.

That night after the transformation, I jetted off and ran off into the woods to go and do a bit of slaughter.

Ariana was now more concerned about me than ever, and she really wanted to make sure that she would be able to fix this.

“There’s got to be someway to fix this. Nathan? Where are you?”

She ran through the woods and checked to see which direction I headed off into, it wasn’t too long until she came across a clearing.

Two young men were talking to eachother as they walked through the woods, one was a scientist named Nigel and the other was a blacksmith named James.

“I don’t feel safe here, James.”

“Relax, Nigel. There is absolutely nothing in these woods that is going to come out and attack us.”

“But what about the Hessian horseman?”

“The Hessian? No. That’s just a silly urban myth.”

“Ummm..guys, I would hate to tell you this but….but….but…”

“But what?”

“The Hessian is real.”

“What?”

“And he’s going to chop your heads off if you’re not careful.”

“He’s right you know, we should get out of here while we have the chance.”

“Relax…we’ve got plenty of time…”

Just then, as he was about to run – he heard a growling sound coming from not too far behind.

“Oh no…no…it can’t be.”

“What?”

“It’s….it’s….it’s…..”

The growling got louder as it got closer and closer, until Nigel finally turned around to see what it was that was making that sound.

“Aaaaaaargh! GRRRRRRRRR!”

“Aaaaaaaaaah!”

“It’s the Hessian!”

“Grrrrrrr!”

“Let’s get out of here!”

James decided to make a run for it and headed back towards town to go and tell everyone about what he just saw.

But Nigel on the other hand wasn’t so lucky, as I leaped out from the shadows and grabbed him, grabbing him by the neck and then slicing his head with my axe – letting out a menacing roar while doing so.

“HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!”

“Nathan. What have you done?”

“I have no idea…but for some reason it feels good…I want more.”

“No…don’t…don’t….”

“Grrrrr…I must kill some more! I can feel my bloodlust increasing by the minute.”

“Nathan…snap out of it.”

“It’s too strong….I must feed my growing blood-lust.”

I jetted off back through the other side of the woods and headed towards town, upon reaching my destination I searched for more victims.

Ariana followed me but along the way something stopped her, she heard an eerie song being sung by a little girl, the girl looked to be about 7 and had a rather ghost-like appearance.

“Don’t even scream. Don’t even cry. The Hessian is coming by. Looking in windows, knocking down doors. He’s going to slice heads off and he might get yours. You can’t even run, can’t hide away. You’re going to end up without a head.”

“Okay…where did that creepy little girl come from?”

“I’m a ghost. Beware….”

“I know. Beware the Hessian.”

A group of townspeople froze in fear at the mere mention of that name, it seemed to have frightened them.

“The Hessian’s here?”

“Yes.”

“Aaaaah! Everybody run for your lives!”

Everyone in town started panicking, running and screaming. They knew about my presence now and were afraid of what was going to happen. All except one, and that person was Ichabod Crane.

“What’s this I hear about an encounter with a certain sharp-toothed horseman?”

“Oh hi, Mr Crane.”

“Please call me Ichabod.”

“Right, Ichabod. Anyway, I was wondering if you could help me here.”

“I’ll try – tell me what it is you want.”

“Well this is about my encounter with the Hessian. You’re not going to believe me If I do though.”

“What?”

“My-best-friend-got-a-curse-placed-upon-him-and-now-he-s-become-the-Hessian.”

“That’s never happened before! Did he kill anyone?”

“Yes…Nigel.”

“You mean that scientist?”

“Yes…and now he’s on a mini rampage of sorts.”

“Oh dear…we have to get to the bottom of this before it’s too late.”

“We better make it quick because he’s drawing nearer.”

“Right. Follow me to the church.”

“Why a church?”

“Because he can’t cross holy grounds specifically not churches.”

“Oh, I see!”

“Let’s hurry up with it, so he doesn’t find us!”

With that, Ichabod and Ariana ran off towards the nearest church and once they got there they headed inside to go and hide from me.

While I continued on my little mini rampage through town, slashing and hacking at various people and slicing their heads off – growling and snarling all the way.

They looked to see if it was safe, so far so good – they wouldn’t have to worry about me trying to attack them – as they knew I wouldn’t be able to cross on holy grounds.

Will Ichabod and Ariana figure out a plan to get their friend back to normal? Or will Nathan be stuck as a rampaging Hessian warrior forever?
